It's all go in Newlyn!

Much more Spring-like this morning after yet another rubbish few days of weather...

with netters like the Ygraine...

glad to be back in port to land...

their trip of largely hake...

directly into the fishmarket...

to join hake from the Stelissa...

getting the big wrap...

under the watchful eye of market-man Steve...

it's a lot cooler in the market...

than outside...

hake also came from the netter, Ocean Pride...

along with dogs...

while monk tails...

and flats came from the inshore trawlers...

there were plenty of pollack by-catch as usual...

and good shots of inshore ray...

while the sardine boats...

and mackerel men are enjoying good fishing still...

there are still the odd box of cuttles...

last of the Ygraine's fish come ashore...

the latest meet-and-greet gull...

code ends getting an airing...

must be something more interesting going on across the bay...

young Mr Carrol checking in with his bait cutting crew...

there's plenty more pots to go in the sea...

early sailing season visitor...

pile 'em high...

mile after mile of back-rope...

needs a strop placing...

every 14 fathoms, one for each pot...

the working deck of the Margaret of Ladram...

the reclaimed beach is getting the groundwork done to accommodate the new training centre...

a couple of posers...

there's never a smile far from Juicy's face...

the other big Ladram crabber...

more cod-ends hung up to air...

the net is off so that's it for this season aboard the Charlotte Clare...

heavy lifting gear in action.
