Mid-week market in Newlyn.

Sadly, one of the oldest boats in the harbour, Cornish Lass, once one half of the pair of harbour boats used by Stevenson's to move boats and ferry supplies will be lifted out of the water and broken up, yet another piece of Newlyn heritage consigned to the memory books...

meanwhile life goes on in the market with fresh supplies of fish like these big squid head for the country's wet fish counters and restaurants...

along with top quality tub gurnard...

succulent cuttlefish...

and the odd monster-like species...

MSC certified hake...

and marvellous mackerel...

courtesy of the team at Falfish...

big soles like tis Dover make a great centre piece dish...

spot the spots...

that man Cod brings back another bass haul...

while monk tails...

and megrims continue to pour ashore from the beamers...

ID this white fish...

or this member of the shark family...

supplies of that seasonal summer favourite are dwindling as the sea temperature turns colder...

as do landings of ray...

while brill make good money...

there's still the odd Mediterranean octopus being landed...

on another gorgeous morning...

spot the deliberate mistake...

a ghostly Cornish Lass...

the Lisa take on fuel for her next sortie...

while there's still work to be done on the deck of the James RH.
