Mizzly Monday morning in Newlyn - your garden breathes a sigh of relief!


Down the Cove now undergoing a big refit and a name change...


you have been warned, heed the harbour advice...



tons of bait ready and waiting for the potters, though gven that one of the biggest of them had just 300kg of crab for two days at sea last week it is now evident just how the SW shellfish population has been depleted by the Mediterranean octopus bloom...



two local boats taking the hisbandry 0f bluefin tuna fishing to the next level...



with these huge insulated fosh boxes designed to keep the fish in top condition..




every penny counts per kilo when indiviadual fsh weigh this much and more...


the sardine cats fished well last night...



a nice pair of zarts...



for some inshore boats mackerel have shoed up again..



Cap'n Cod also got some of the action while chasing his beloved bass...



beam trawl fish from the Twilight included megrim sole...




and monk tails...


the re-vamped Newlyn Harbour Cafe as was, now re-named Favorita is in danger of opening its doors soon...



there's some big yachts on passage...




anglers head out on the Bluefin for...


keen boat spotters will be ticking this classic boat off in their I-Spy Classic Boats book, the 1934 Berthon builtt, Maiden Light graces Newlyn with her gently sweeping lines...



the not so classic lines of the Steph of Ladran with both derricks ashore for some major refurb work underway...



shellfish from Newlyn are delivered to Europe via rad using vivier lorries - they are fitted out with tanks filled with seawater which arare constantly aerated during the journey...



it's a bit of a stretch when labelling tons of Cornish sardines stacked four high...



the harbour's latest building project basks under some seriously dark skies bathed in the morning light...



ado all the boats now making the all the restoration work on the Old Quay a roaring success...



the council have introduced electric Beryl scooters as a trial to complement to the Beryl bikes - be warned -  this doesn't mean that it is now legit to use any old electric scooter on the roads or pavements legally in Penzance though!
