Community opportunity on the Old Quay, Newlyn.

NPHC Seeks Expressions of Interest, Alongside Old Harbour Restoration

The Newlyn Pier & Harbour Commissioners (NPHC) are inviting expressions of interest for the Fishermen's Rest building on the Old Quay in Newlyn. This initiative coincides with the ongoing restoration project of the Old Harbour itself, highlighting NPHC's commitment to revitalising this historic area.

The Fishermen's Rest is a historic building located in a prominent position on the Old Quay, overlooking the harbour. NPHC believes it has the potential to be a useful space for both the local community and visitors, complementing the improvements being made to the harbour's infrastructure.

They are interested in proposals that show:

* An awareness of Newlyn's history and fishing traditions.

* A plan to engage with the local community.

* A practical and sustainable business plan.

* Creative ideas for the use of the building.

* Respect for the existing building.

Essentially, NPHC wants to find someone who will use the Fishermen's Rest in a way that benefits the area, working in harmony with the wider Old Harbour restoration. They are looking for a proposal that will ensure the building remains a useful asset to the community.

Those interested are asked to submit expressions of interest detailing their ideas and plans. This is an opportunity to contribute to the Old Quay's ongoing development and make use of a building in a key location, during a time of significant positive change for the whole area.
