#FishyFriday finds Newlyn full of the finest fresh Cornish fish.

250 plus boxes of the best MSC Certified hake

from the Ajax...

along with more from the Karen of Ladram...

and the Britannia V...

with space at a premium of a crowded market floor the boxes were stacked five high...

which made it much easier for Falfish buyer Edwin to say, "book'em Dano" and buy all the 1-2 & 2-3kg hake form the Ajax...

there were some cracking whiting too...

along with some beautiful ray wings...

from young Mr Keast's New Venture  a good indication that investing in a more powerful engine was always going to reap its reward in the long term...

starry-gazey ice pie...

hardly a square inch of floor spare on this morning's very busy market...

of only I had known you had this beauty Sid!..

a fine pair of plaice from the beamer, St Georges...

and big whiting from the Ajax...

and a brace of black bream...

and superb tub gurnards...

to go with these big pouts...

close up to both ends of a hake...

big fish...

also helped fill much of the fridge...

along with plenty of small mackerel from St Ives Bay...

and a few dozen scallops form the beamer...

Keith at speed heading out of the market...

while Roger, ever the gent, popped a few boxes aboard the Iceberg truck...

some of the fleet are all set for a break over the weekend to enjoy the latest round of six nations rugby hoping to see Jack Nowell in action again for England vs Wales...

which would be a good time to get in a few cases of St Austell's Cousin Jack - given that they donate 5p from evbery bottle sold to Jack's favourite charity, the RNLI!
