Three festive boats for the final #FishyFriday of 2016




Three beam trawlers provided the fish for the...


 final #FishyFriday market of 2016...


with plenty of bg monk tails...


lemon...


and megrim soles...


for which the quota cuts announced by the December Council were not so good for Newlyn boots fishing in Area VII...


gurnards however, as yet have not made the TAC statute books just yet...


auctioneer Ryan keeps the tempo up with plenty of keen bidding for fish this week...


especially for this good run of megrim lookalikes...

and some cracking plaice...


the only blue flashing light welcome in Newlyn comes form Gary doing his bit for data collection, from data we get information, from information we get knowledge and from knowledge we get wisdom...


and one thing we know is that cod will soon be as abundant as ever...


brill are a good bet for a Christmas special meal, sweet but firm go good under the grill...


for Newlyn beam trawlers, landings of cuttles have tailed off over the last few weeks...


the masts were removed form the Excellent to reduce any hazard near the quay for passers by...

it is time to remind all hands that tonight will see fireworks, carols and a visit form Santa aboard the lifeboat to celebrate the switching on of Newlyn's Christmas Lights! - starts at 6:30 with the lights going on at 7:30.
