Monday morning's busy Newlyn fish market.

A big cod gets the once over as Cornwall College Foundation Science degree students get down and dirty with the mornings catch under Andy's watchful gaze...

before they move on to hear from Gary how Cefas collect fish data form each trip landed on the market...

though there is still not much of  a  showing of squid for the boats to get excited about...

while the beam trawlers can always rely on the ever faithful gurnard...

while some of the inshore boats are making some good landings of bass...

at the other end of the market two big trips of hake the Govenek of Ladram...

and from the Ajax...

who, like the rest of the fleet at sea over the weekend had to put up with some pretty unpleasant weather before landing their fish...

the Sapphire II is looking good after her refit and paint-up...

while the crabbers show their spacious working deck to good effect

one local moggy keeping an eye on the quayside...

as the sun begins to break the day...

the transport arrives to pick up today's landings...

things are quiet enough down the quay though...

as the sky goes through a series of changes as dawn breaks in the east...

the netter Ocean Pride...

makes her way in Through the Gaps...

past beamers...

like the Filly.
