Going back a few days to when the canvas was underpainted with a burnt sienna outline sketch...
then the sky and the first semblance of the heavy seas roughed out..
the sky could have been left like this with broad heavy brush strokes...
the darker elements of the waves outlined...
and a few lighter areas explored...
always fun to doodle with palette leftovers.
