Saturday and Sunday around Newlyn and Mount's bay

Stelissa waiting to land...

as the Angel Emiel makes her way to the gaps...

ahead of the Silver Dawn who landed her fish in Le Guilvinec yesterday...

now the crew have to take on new gear...

the end of another successful hunt for hake and big white fish for the netter Ajax...

all in a day's work...

as the punts make their way to market...

with their tubs full of squid - making a break from catching mackerel in the Bay...

the boats are capitalising on excllent prices...

for these top quality squid...

sure to maintain the buyer's interest on Monday morning's market...

black gold the boys call them...

they are weighed and taken straight to the cold store...

before the boats head back to berth...

en-mass...

led by the Wiffer...

there's something about this shot that reminds me of Mr Rhodda...

looks like another new recruit to the fleet...

over in Mousehole the luggers enjoyed a day sailing across the Bay...

while in Penzance there is steam power on show...

where in more genteel day's gone by even the dining carriages were given names!
