Superb simple supper - Skate & Black Butter

Classic Breton fish dish! - take a pair of ray or skate wings, halve them and poach them in a boullion...

make your black butter, 4 ounces of butter heated until it is caramelised (smells almost nutty)...

and pour over the wings once they have come out of the poching liquid and been drained - add a few capers.

Classic ketch Irene leaves Newlyn

Newlyn girls go crabbing

Local girls with strong fishing family connexions don their boots and head off out to sea aboard the Emma Louise with skipper Mario to shoot a day in the life of Cornwall's top crab fishing boat.

While at at sea, the girls also managed to catch a Royal Nay SAR exercise with Rescue 193 from Culdrose.  The girls did a fantastic job said skipper Mario - they were every bit as processional as the media teams who have recently been aboard the boat filming for ITV and others.

On a technical note for all would-be-videographers using their phones, digital cameras that shoot HD video or cams - always shoot in landscape not portrait - with the device on its side - to avoid 'pillarboxing'!
