Fine April #FishyFriday in Newlyn.

Fine star to the day looking across the harbour with many of the fleet away to sea...

some of the indigenous wildlife wait for breakfast to be served...

lonely cuttlefish...

tubby tub gurnard...

one of Newlyn's summer fish at its best...

brill triptych...

congruous conger...

wonderfully fleshy ray wings...

lush lemons...

there's a time and plaice...

'asum 'ake...

this one turbot would cost way more than filling up your average family motor with fuel...

there's John Dory...

and Imogen John Dory...

belly-side...

and top-side of megrim sole...

and Dover sole...

pristine line caught pollack...

and some bass with interesting tallies...

prime trap-caught cuttles...

keep the handline mackerel coming...

time for picking up the morning's auction winnings...

there's still plenty of haddock on the grounds...

and monk...

and more reds...

and quality gurnards which make fine eating or when used to transform a fish stew/soup/bouillabaisse...

heading for ice...

past the Elisabeth of Ladram...

and two visiting Brixham trawlers...

as the Spirited Lady III...

 takes ice.
