Fine #FishyFriday morning in Newlyn.

It's a blue kind of day...

 today...

the local seabird population is doing its best to reduce the amount of sunlight absorbed by the fish market solar panels by covering them in guano...

not so for Billy-no-mates...

fuel is rumoured to be heading over the £1 per litre barrier soon...

which will mean huge consequences for the thirsty beam trawl fleet...

full-steam ahead to get the Fish open for the summer season....

Elka Apollon still waits for orders in the bay...

Mousehole's Boho allotment soaks up the early morning sun....

seems Q has got the spacing between the boxes sussed at last...

a nice brace of plaice...

fine weather givers the handliners a chance to get back to sea and do what they do best...

land stunning quality fish like these pollack...

and mackerel...

while the big beam trawlers make the most of good fishing for Dovers, they need to the way the price of fuel is rocketing...

so every lemon...

Dover...

and red mullet help boost their grossings...

leaving the inshore trawlers to land these chunky thornback wings...

and gorgeous looking undulate ray...

crawfish anyone?..

name the fish...

finally, a few boxes of blondes for the Billy...

what a fine start to the day - roll on Summer!
