#FishyFriday in Newlyn and it's last neap tide of the year.

Some of the last MSC Certified Cornish hake to be landed for 2020...

along with those big, goggle-eyed...

pollack, great to see the Ajax  back in action at last......

blonde ray also figured on the tally sheet for the Silver Dawn...

while a handful of inshore boats picked up a few quality bass with their lines...

having arrived in the early hours...

the netter Ocean Pride...

begins the process of landing her catch...

and it is reassuring to see such a young crew aboard the Ocean pride too, the boys seem keen to get the fish in the cold store in double-quick time...

maybe something to do with being the last trip of the year...

heading towards the shortest day of the year, beam trawlers are still the mainstay of the fleet when it comes to supplying the market with quality flatfish like Dover and lemon soles...

while the gill netters concentrate their efforts on big white fish like hake and pollack...

and, at this time of year, the potting fleet focus on crab and lobster.
