Final April #FishyFriday in Newlyn.

Buyers busy buying the best fish...

including these fish that make such good eating...

red, white and blue, great combination...

two beam trawlers landed a mix of megrim...

lemons...

plaice...

and Dover sole...

there's no escape...

thick, succulent ray wings, a dish hard to beat...

top drawer fish like turbot always make good money...

as do John Dory...

a brace of pristine pollack...

along with a haul of hake from the netter, Britannia V...

all went to help provide at least some fish on an otherwise quiet #FishyFriday market...

the clouds are gathering for the arrival of storm Hannah...

the advantages of wearing a PFD (personal floatation device) while on deck are becoming all to obvious after a recent man-overboard situation highlighted that they can represent the difference between life and death...

there's always plenty to see at the Newlyn Archive...

looks like Jeremy, being a 'Leven man is flying the flags for Porthleven Food Festival which starts tomorrow - your chance to get top cooking tips from some of the best fish chefs in Cornwall like Ben Tunnicliffe, Jude Kereama, Guy Owen, Steph Delourme and Ben Prior...

work in progress on the Nichola...

as the Brit makes good her fenders...

crabbers use powerful their powerful searchlight to find...

the buffs that they use to mark the ends of each string of 100 pots...

which are worked on deck...

she's the latest vessel to join the Ladram fleet...

on the Scillys the paramedics often arrive by boat...

floating support for professional seafarers around the UK from Seafarers UK...

yet another piece of the harbour is brought into use...

bottom scrub time for Golden Harvest, one of the sardine fleet...

another gig Scilly bound...

now you see her now you don't, the Mali Rose was bought to replace the Gry Maritha but has proved too big for the job so she will be sold on and the Gry will continue to supply the Scillys with goods.
