Tuesday's fish market in Newlyn

The last of the old wooden Stevenson fleet, still registered as a fishing boat waits to dry out on the hard...

mostly inshore fish on the market after the Bank Holiday weekend - roll on the next one when it will be Newlyn Fish Festival!...

plenty of monk tails...

and the odd turbot or two...

by the box...

don't forget, at the Fish Festival there is plenty of fun for the kids in the Fish Taels tent...

just the one big red mullet...

summer is John Dory time...

and these guys with the big eyes...

a handful of herring...

pristine pollack from the top pollack hand liner, Sea Spray...

all get whisked away quick...

there were some big plaice...

not so big hake...

some meaty looking red gurnards...

and the odd witch...

and a few Dovers as ever...

6am, and it's time to take ice...

or wait for the propeller to arrive...

a tranquil start to the day in Paradise.
