Final #FishyFriday for 2015

Making the most of the fine weather boats like the beam trawler Algrie put ashore a good mix of fish ranging from haddock...

to plaice...

the ever-reliable cod...

some larger-than-life turbot...

while the inshore guys pile in the mackerel...

the Ajax had the western end of the market to herself after making a quick turnaround landing...

 of hake...

more cod...

and whitefish to catch #FishyFriday's market for the weekend...

these 6+ kilo fish making half decent money...

cod it must be remembered are predatory fish and as such just as capable of eating their own to satisfy their voracious appetite...

meanwhile on the deck of the Billy Rowney, minus her starboard derrick and weighed down with ballast to keep her upright, the fuel line snakes across the deck...

high above deck level amidst the mass of lifting gear wires the sheared stud of a huge hanging block can be seen, the culprit in yesterday's gear damage...

almost high water for the Govenek...
