Fascinating short video of Newlyn and Mousehole back in the 1930s and more recently. Plenty of familiar faces and boats to put names to as the film covers the boats, the port and the fish market and those who work there. There is a great sequence looking inside the huge Stevenson's ice works - compare that to the new ice works nearing completion!
On the fish auction the prices might seem extravagant - that's because Newlyn, despite selling 90% of the fish to EU states like France and Spain who all buy in kilos, was the last major port to sell fish in imperial weights - by the stone!
