Rockfall rescue at Porthchapel beach near Land's End.

The SAR helicopter from Culdrose was scrambled......
along with the coastguard, some making their way from Porthcurno on foot.......
the high cliffs around Porthchapel beach provided coastal path walkers with a vantage point wondering what was happening below......
RNLI lifeboat 16-13 stood off the point........
while the helicopter dropped a stretcher........
 down to the waiting team.......
 and hovered for a while.......
not the only thing hovering around the cliffs at the time.......
the man was lifted off after sustaining injuries from falling rock.......
 and taken to Treliske Hospital.......
 his condition unknown.........
coastguards later sealed off the cliff area........
where the rock had fallen from.......
though there are warnings on the path to the beach........
back in the Bay the cruise ship Europa is at anchor.
