The last thing a flat fish would see of a small trawler's foot or groundrope before entering the trawl!
The short length of chain between the discs (all made from tyres) helps to stir up the seabed and scare the fish ahead of the trawl mouth. Note the first 10 or so rows mesh directly behing the fishing line (bound for protection with rope) are double twine to reduce the damage from conatct with the seabed and small stones.

It is very sad to see a boat like mine being demolished like this, she looks like she was in such sound condition as well !
It's a shame that there were no takers for her.
I must contact Moz about some fittings.
