Back to normal in Newlyn
Yet another stunning sunride greets those early risers post fish fistival excessses...
as the camera crew head home after a night spent chasing sardines...
It emarket the Imogen landed some good haddock...
while the mackerel still seem elusive for some...
those that are on the market don't come in much better condition than this...
and there's a few stone in these boxes for a day's work..,.
the latest inshore boat to work from the port, the Tegen Mor also put ashore a cracking trip of pollack...
while outside the big gillnetter Govenek of Ladram makes ready for sea by taking ice...
evidence indeed, as if it were needed, that there are indeed great whites in Cornish waters!...
time to take on board fresh bait for the pots.

Duncan and Sue Lucas are Passionate About Fish, set up the star attraction at the show, the fresh fish display with fish donated from boats and fish merchants to raise money for the Mission...
Rowse fishing made their new crabber, Emma Louise take centre stage in front of the fish market with skipper Mario demonstrating how the boat works as he and his crew shot and then hauled a string of pots inside the harbour...
in a break from tradition, the festival was officially opened at 10am by Yan Giron from Peche Fraiche ...
his address focused on the the changes in recent years to EU fisheries management from the top down to the increasing power and success of self-regulation and increasing involvement of fishermen at regional and local level and in[particular the benefits to be had from increased collaboration between fishing communities fishing the same waters, as Breton and Cornish Celtic cousins have done for many years...

Breton Yan Giron opens the 2013 Newlyn Fish Festival
