If the number of yachts that fill all the available berths at this time of year are anything to go by, Mounts Bay and Newlyn are ideally placed to develop provision for visiting pleasure craft it seems.

All new - the official Newlyn Pier & Harbour Commissioners web site - up and running!
In the continuing mood of openness, transparency and wanting to serve all harbour users, the new Newlyn Harbour Commissioners have created a new web site with the sole purpose of publicising the strategic and operational management of the port.
The home page of the site features an opening address from the new Commissioners pledging their desire to operate in an open and transparent way in order to take seize the opportunities currently presenting themselves to the harbour in the 21st Century.
The site also carries minutes from the first meeting - and will continue to do so in the future. Also marking a change in proceedings - meetings will be held at the Centre, St Peter's Hill and will have an open floor session for the first 15 minutes of every meeting - with any interested party able to attend.

Ahead of the commemorations at the end of this month when a small flotilla of boats from Brittany will arrive in Newlyn as the return of the Free French. Monday, 23rd June will see the start of several events taking place along the coast - more information can be seen in this document.
