out in the bay the Danmar puts a diver aboard the Algrie, the port side gear can be seen against the side - too much weight in the trawl with a large boulder is suspected.....sure enough, once in the gaps, the Algrie gets her gear up to assess the damage after Jeremy cut out a boulder taller than him!

later, Jeremy gets to pass on the details of his dive job on the Algrie once he gets ashore with Clive, Stevo's fleet boss......and down the quay the Newlyn Harbour Lights crew are hard at work over the weekend - any help would be appreciated - call in at the Fisherman's Arms

World record thresher shark in Newlyn

510 Kgs of thresher shark wait on Newlyn market......
what's thought to be a world record was caught by Roger Nowell on the inshore stern trawler Imogen. Roger wasn't best pleased as the 16 foot long shark broke his winch!

Big news today are the swinging quota cuts indicated for Cod and other species in the South West - how throwing dead fish back in the sea even begin to count as a means of conservation is beyond the ken of all, save for those who still persist in managing fisheries in this part of the world?
