According to the Mail - Newlyn fisherman's son gets to play for England this weekend!

According to the Daily Mail...

Looks like all hands in Newlyn will be glued to the TV this Saturday to see the son of one of the port's top skippers take to the field in Paris when he runs out to face France in the first game of this year's six-nations tournament...

Jack Nowell started his rugby career aged nine for the local Penzance and Newlyn Pirates - he currently plays for Exeter Chiefs.

now....

according to the Times it's a different story!

#eatmorefish kettles are so useful!

Ye old faithful fish kettle comes into its own when poaching big long fish like this Dover Sole - the trick is to get the water in the kettle boiling first and then add the fish - a few favourite herbs like dill or fennel or in this case garlic and ginger can be added here - a fish this size takes less than 10 minutes - it's easy to over-poach rather than under!

Many megs maketh Monday

This was the weather for much of the weekend...

shots from Cape Cornwall looking towards a barely visible Land's End pounded by yet another heavy Atlantic swell...

all of the fleet bar the port's biggest beam trawler are in port...

so Monday's market is awash with fish...

Look out France! here comes the tattoo'd street-fighting Cousin Jack!

The sports press are full of stories looking ahead to the fisrt round of Six Nations games with England travelling to the Stade Francais in Paris to play France in the opening game this coming Saturday - and top of those stories for the tiny fishing port of Newlyn is that one of its sons is predicted by some sports pundits to run out on to the pitch wearing an England senior team shirt for the first time!

look out France - some of the daily papers have branded Jack the 'streetfighter' or 'tattoo'd terror'!

Exeter Chief's LV Player of the Year and BBC TV's SW Sports personality of the Year, winger Jack Nowell has already impressed after an outstanding game in last year's first ever Junior Rugby World cup where he scored a crucial try.

Here's what Steve James in today's Telegraph says:
Watson returned to England’s base on Sunday night hoping to impress in training ahead of selection for the France match in Paris on Saturday. England will likely choose Jack Nowell on the right wing and Jonny May on the left, with Chris Ashton omitted, but that can change.
Here's to the game on Saturday!
