Mackerel for tea - try Kimchi!

Saturday Kitchen gave the recipe for classic Korean dish of Kimchi last weekend - you could buy prepared kimchi but it is easy and well worth it to malke your own - and fermented veg are good for you!

Grill or use a heavy frypan to cook your mackerel fillets and serve with Kimchi stir-fried with rice and fresh runner beans - superb compliment to the mackerel and it doesn't get much healthier as a dish.

Fish Festival morning and the clouds are gray and its henting down...

Is enough to make a poor girl hit the bottle...

but it's all smiles when the sun comes out and the visitors pour in to check out Cornwall's finest seaweed harvesters based in Falmouth - The Cornish Seaweed Company - the perfect compliment to the finest fish and shellfish.

Not so Newlyn Green

Looks like the green was not quite ready for the combination of car tyres and rain...

right on cue the weather changed o Fish Festival afternoon as paly drew to a close...

all that remains of the Passion the About Fish display all set for next year...

where no doubt Ajax hake will be on display again...

those mackerel still keep coming...

along with loads of lovely lemons...

that the Trevessa IV just can't leave alone...

someone is passionate about fish it seems...

the Stevenson boys are looking well turned out these days...

making the bidding good and solid prices for the boats landing big white fish like the Ajax...

watch out, watch out there's an arachnid about...

the weather has an autumnal air ts morning...

as the Govenek of Ladram makes her way through the gaps...

and into the harbour...

as the cloud descends...

over the Bay...

looks like thew Cormac boys are about to make good the damage to the promenade at last. #rollonsummer

Check out the Fish Festival fun after MP for Camborne and Fisheries Minister braves the damp conditions and opens the 25th festival of all things fishy - all hands waiting for the sun to show - which it did of course just as forecast once the wind freshened and moved the clouds along!
