In short supply, but what a beauty!

Cracking example of a cleaned Loligo Vulgaris squid, not to be confused with Loligo Forbesi - top right is the small sack of squid ink which can be saved whole (provided the squid wasn't upset during capture discarded the ink within) and used for all those classic Italian dishes nero dishes. Alway good to look for squid with the reddish-brown membrane intact on the outside.

While the power to the quay is free.....

Let's hope the supply can keep up with the number of users down the quay......
what's the world come to?, Scotty gets to evaluate the new 'self-service' system in the Mission......
while some of the old hands, the new friends who REALLY care about Penzance support group, come up with an entirely sensible new Option X for Penzance harbour.......
heavy lifting about to commence.......
while there's two chain mats to put back together on this beamer.

AIS tracks French crabber shooting gear.

Spotted on the AIS this afternoon, the Etoile de Berger.......
has just shot her pots - hope she is keeping a close eye on them.

Enough to make Newlyn Male Voice choir green with envy!

Talk of a Hollywood film on top of their recording contract must make the boys from Port Isaac still wonder if its all a dream and one morning they'll wake up!

Statistics tell a story of one sort.

Apparently today's UK fishing fleet ain't what it used to be - especially as compared to the sdailing vessels of the Victorian era according to a study titled "118 years of industrial fishing on UK bottom trawl fisheries" published in the Times Online today - the paper requires careful analysis - details of the source and authors are available here.
