With a little help from the inclement weather, tons of new sheet steel go rusty quickly on the quay before beginning a new life aboard the ABS....
over on the JTS, scrap manager Clive continues to cut away the old steel hull, almost down to the waterline she is now about to move round to the old Shipham's slip....
under the careful towing skills of Royden in the harbour punt
ably assisted by harbour master, Andrew Munosn.

Full force of the heavy swell is evident
The Environment Agency publishes a full list of current flood warnings to keep those in areas affected by the severe weather informed of the latest guidance and information.
7 am on Monday morning and the swell is evident running along the back of the North Quay... Fish Merchant's, Samways are another company with new look transport.... last of the fish going ashore from the St Georges.... that is one very big swell apparent Monday afternoon... just as well the wind was not around the Southerly mark as the combination of deep depression and high tide would have seen the harbour flooded badly....
see a few short clips of the movement evident in the harbour Monday evening.

Full house today
Visiting inshore lifeboat.....
yesterday there wasn't a beamer in sight, now, ahead of the predicted storm the thew fleet has returned....
Imogen sits in the cradle on the slip - good drying weather...
the St Georges has three ropes ashore in preparation....
a very heavy sky out in the Bay over the Anglian Princess....
there's a new bakers and eatery about to open in Newlyn Town
waterside propert agents sell one of the few properties within the harbour boundary overlooking the Old Quay
a single Breton trawler has turned up well ahead of the storm, Le Nautile.

Lull before the storm
Saturday morning finds much of the North Quay still devoid of beam trawlers from WS&S.....
though, this is not what is forecast for Sunday evening.....
more steel plate on the quay to go aboard the ABS....
over in the comfort of the Mission it seems the headline story in the Fishing News is giving cause for concern to one reader....
one of the juvenile Icelandic gulls is still honouring the harbour with its presence.

Big tide and fine weather
The latest addition to the Rowse fleet, still in her original colours....
with some ally welding still to be finished.....and a lick of white paint on the shelter....
the Cathryn's new plywood wheelhouse roof is taking shape.....
so that is where the Hatherleigh has been hiding!....
over in Penzance Dry Dock.
where work continues on a quality finish for this yacht.

Not a beamer in sight
Super crabber ABS is down off the slip after the completion of her below the waterline work...
'Tom' has temporarily been removed while some serious strengthening work is carried out around the plinth....
bit by bit the JTS is slowly shrinking in size.....
from the end of the North Quay, not a boat in the WS&S fleet is in sight (apart from those down by the iceworks!)....
who is this well-known skipper entering the fish market doing his impersonation of a gull ? answers in an email please?.... young Mr Tonkin picking up fish during the auction.....
the Ben My Chree is silhouette alongside the market...
our busy box-washer emanates a steamy halo!

Penlee lifeboat Ivan Ellen gets out for some exercise
Turning away from the pontoon with the aid of her bow thruster, the Ivan Ellen makes her way.... out on a regular exercise.....
on a flat calm evening....
passing up the Silver Dawn, where some late evening work is underway....they say you should never take work home with you......
could be alien eggs aboard the Britannia V......
a quiet night in the auction hall....
the Intuition sits quietly against the quay
