Aquarius...
Rowse's Intuition is back and getting in some Newlyn action...
the Aquarius heads back to fond a berth for the weekend after landing her whitefish on the market...
bust market this morning and not a netter in sight...
there are always good shots of Dover sole with some of the beam trawlers...
and monk of course...
and at this time of year the big beam trawlers pull massive hauls of megrim soles form the deep water grounds south west and west of Newlyn...
with the occasional JD thrown in for good measure...
remember, a single row of suckers makes for a long chew...
plenty of red gurnard with the beamers this week...
as the St Georges piles another big trip ashore...
with a few examples of the shark family...
with their assorted nasal shapes...
giving clues as to their identity...
a box of the best...
and even more megrim soles...
three boxes is about what every beam trawler lands of cod - not a common fish in the south west unless you fish up the (Bristol) Channel in early Spring......
nor are there ever big trips of plaice for the boats that fish hard on the bottom...
heads bowed in awe of the fish...
it takes me back...

Sam stepping out...
many of the boats now wing their ray and save the carcasses for bait for the crabbers...
big turbot again...
last minute landing being sorted by the crew form one of the Scottish prawn boats...
there's monk...
and big monk...
with plenty of fish from the prawners keeping the buyers busy...
the harbour was looking busier than ever this morning...
with several Scottish lorries waiting for the boats to land their prawns...
mirror-like harbour waters...
and a good day to progress the paint job on the Rejoice...
a sea of masts and derricks...
taking a sounding on the fuel tanker.
