Shades of grey

Fifty shades of grey, the not so white Isle of Wight early this morning.......
plenty of live steam action at Swanage station......

once a hugely busy working port for Portland Stone, now home to many new waterside developments......
but there are constant references to its proximity to the sea.......
let's hope there are more mackerel in these waters than those around Mount's Bay at the moment.....
 always popular with the visitors......
and a plethora of multi-coloured footwear set the summery scene.....
the local Italian restaurant is well into its seafood menu.......
 as is the music scene.......
and the ever popular Fish Plaice, wonder if they supply Wordsworth House........
its also time for the well supported Swanage Lifeboat Week, a myriad of events all in aid of the gallant lads and lasses who man the local lifeboat.......
only fait to give the local meat man a mention to show that TtG is not wholly biased......
the local art reflects the interest in all things nautical.....
and don't get caught out and forget that the Swanage Bay fresh fish shop is closed at 3pm and 2pm on a Wednesday
even the Cornish mussels compete with the Devonian Lyme Bay crab.......
