The British and Irish Cup 2010-11 Pool 'A' opener away against Scottish Premiership side Currie RFC will now be at the Mennaye Field, Penzance, on Saturday, kick off 2pm.

Officials of Currie RFC advised the Cornish Pirates earlier this week that there was no prospect of their pitch near Edinburgh being playable this coming weekend, and following discussions they have agreed to fly to Cornwall to get the fixture played.

The cost to the Cornish Pirates to host the game will amount to £14,000, covering Currie's flight to Cornwall and an agreed share of the gate, so it is hoped that rugby followers in the county will rally and support the Pirates at this Saturday's game.

Currie RFC were Scottish Hydro Premier 1 Champions last season, the league has since split and they now compete in the top eight of what has been named a Scottish Premier A league, where they are currently placed in mid-table. Former Scotland 'A' player Ally Donaldson is their head coach, the Currie squad is littered with Scotland internationals at various levels, along with a number of other players from New Zealand, South Africa, and Ireland. Kiwi full-back Hayden Abercrombie is a prolific points scorer who has played for North Harbour in the NPC.

Thankyou Larry. Very much appreciated. Would it be possible to do this for future home games aswell? I could give you the link for the match posters when available.
