Top job in Newlyn - Harbour Master wanted

There's a vacancy in Newlyn for the position of Harbour Master:

Newlyn Pier and Harbour Commissioners administer the busy port of Newlyn on the edge of Mounts Bay in Cornwall. We need to recruit a Harbour Manager who will initially work with and report to the present Harbour Master, eventually taking on that role on his retirement. 


Duties will include working closely with the Commissioners on an exciting project to redevelop much of the Harbour. 


As one of the UK’s busiest fishing ports Newlyn also boasts excellent leisure facilities and is located in one of the most picturesque parts of the UK In addition to boat handling and mooring skills, ideally you’ll possess a Masters Certificate of Competency or equivalent, as well as experience in, and an understanding of, the fishing industry and commercial marine environment along with recreational boating activities. Your ability to make sound decisions is crucial as is your ability to respond to maritime emergencies. You’ll know that education in a role like this is crucial, as is enforcement, and you will have the manner that reflects this.
