A taste of Cornish pastels in the Guardian
This weekend's Guardian Travel section ran an excellent piece on Newlyn's hot bed of creative courses for anyone interested in a holiday with a purpose.
Newlyn School of Art, run by Henry Garfit, is housed in an old primary school 'up Paul Hill' hosts a range of paint, print and drawing courses. Constantly pounded by Atlantic swells the coastline provides ample opportunity for artistic endeavour. So far the courses have attracted a diverse mix of those who definitely can, those who would like to and those who would do something different - meaning the groups learn in a lively working environment in and away from the studio space.
Coming up next week is a three day oil painting course with Neil Pinkett, one of Cornwall's foremost landscape painters.
