Wednesday's market in Newlyn.

Two beam trawlers and all the inshore trawlers landed trips for this morning's midweek market making it a haven for the very best quality fish...

like these big cod...

Dover sole...

name this one?...

some big plaice...

or these lovely ling,  the salted version of which was the favoured fish of Henry VIII who had it served to Emperor Charles V when he visited Hampton court...

a typical number of boxes and variety landed by an inshore trawler in the course of a day's fishing...

best brill...

and hake...

some of which run into 6-7 kilos each fish...

as the market draws to a close at first light the Padstow netter, Charisma makes her way...

to land at the market...

another fine morning in the far south west.
