It's a Megrim kind of day today

even the beam trawlers are finding they cannot avoid catching large quantities of haddock despite the headline of the trawl being no more than one metre from the seabed...

big tub gurnards make great sashimi or can be cooked baked in a crust of rock or sea salt - looks amazing when served...

not so much black gold for the beam trawlers this winter - could be a big season for the anchovies later in the year as they are thought to feed on the eggs of cuttles...
