Just a boat or two at Twilight

As the gig girls get into their stride down the harbour...

avoiding crabs where possible...

hopefuly there's another Helen Glover in the making somewhere here...

early evening sees the inshore trawler Innisfallen making a landing...

as skipper Nigel contemplates the world at large...

before heading back to berth for a few hours...

the harbour staff happy to weed the quays in preoaration for the coming Newlyn Fish Festival...

as another inshore trawler makes it in #ThroughTheGaps ...

and up to the market...

with anglers adorning the quay the biggest beamer in the port,...

the Billy Rowney heads out to sea...

and drops her derricks as another gig passes under her stern...

as the sun goes down, the Cornish Sardines come up in the wayer so the local sardine fleet have mustered...

always the chance of a bass or two close in...

as the rest of the sardiner fleet...

head out from the gaps...

in perfect conditions...

at the top of a big spring tide...

its Twilight or crepsicule time...

not so good for the boats with rags...

but great for the visitors to see...

as they take a stroll down the quay...

to enjoy the sights and sounds...

as the last of the inshore tawl fleet heads for the gaps.
