A star returns! - Ben Tunnicliffe takes on Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn

Newlyn's Tolcarne Inn - a pub within the community.....
and strong supporter of the local arts....
and plenty of room outside for the summer.

Stars seem to have been a feature of Through the Gaps this week - those who were lucky enough to eat at the Abbey Restaurant in the day when Penzance boasted its one and only Michelin star will be gladened to know that chef Ben Tunnicliffe will once again be wowing west Cornwall palates with his take on local produce - "flavour first and foremost, simplicity second and aesthetics last" was what the man said a while back.

With the best fish landed anywhere in the UK but the read of a menu away, visitors to the Tolcarne Inn, Ben's new home, will surely be expecting something special. So, while we might not want to see Newlyn become NewBen it goes without saying that when a chef with a name and reputation to boot sets up shop in town people will sit up and take notice. The eating out bar in Newlyn just got raised.

When can we book?
