Final #FishyFriday in June.

Seven hours later and an exasperated Mr Smith finally brought the Maverick into Newlyn with this as yet unidentified piece of material wrapped firmly round his rudder...

looking on the bright side, she's getting a good scrub down and by the time she floats again after removing the aforementioned flotsam he will have been turned in for a few hours and all set to head back out to sea again #makehay...

two of the port's biggest beamers landed fish for the final #FishyFriday of June...

the St Georges with plenty of megrim soles...

while the Billy Rowney picked up a few Dovers...

amd plenty of megrim soles...

while the St Georges picked up a few plaice...

all of which were laid out so that the buyers could more easily walk between the rows of fish...

a shot of inshore mullet...

and a pile of John Dory from the Imogen III tell you it's summer...

the lonely lobster...

and a mix of quality fish came young Roger's way...

as did this Mediterranean octopus...

and lobsters landing from an inshore boat further up the coast...

the inshore boats are still targeting line caught pollack...

with so few of these guys about...

and the odd red bream...

while the three big netters landed a mix of big turbot...

whole monk...

and hake...

to the assembled buyers hanging on every bid...

they say behind every good auctioneer...

there's a buyer with a smile on his face...

or two...

red boots, box and mullet thank's to Ben ;-)...

more line caught pollack...

 two rays on the move...

keep your eyes peeled for those Atlantic Bluefin tuna and if you see any please let the guys @ThunnusUK know about it...

show some love for more new fish-market non-slip flooring just laid...

perk of the job, another stunning morning here in Newlyn...

although have some sympathy for the guys on the Joy of Ladram who have just removed every piece of gear from the boat so that she can be a 'light ship' for her MCA DTI survey - if she sits in the water to her load marks then they sill simply put all the gear back again...

no wonder skipper Jimbo is all smiles...

Tom's paint job is nearly complete while work seems to have slowed somewhat aboard Jeremy's new ship...

the orange team and their latest recruit...

PJ bound away again...

Silver Dawn at a silver dawn...

there's plenty of nets ready for the re-cycling programme...

under wraps Christo style.
